Getting to Goodwood

Goodwood is situated just outside Chichester, only 60 miles from London, 30 miles from Brighton and Southampton.

By road From London A3

At Milford Roundabout take A286 via Haslemere and Midhurst. Before Chichester on leaving Singleton village take left turn over Downs past Goodwood Racecourse then follow brown tourist board signs for Goodwood House (approx 4 miles).

From Southampton and Brighton take A27 to Chichester

Follow brown tourist board signs to Goodwood House.

By rail

There is a regular service from London Victoria to Chichester (1hour, 40 minutes), plus the coastal service from Brighton and Portsmouth. Buses or taxis are available at Chichester Station.

Goodwood has its own aerodrome which is capable of receiving aircraft with a maximum 12 metre length. Located less than a mile from the House, it has its own Air Traffic Services and fuelling facilities, they can be contacted on +44 (0) 1243 755061.

In addition helicopter landing facilities are available at either the aerodrome or the House by prior arrangement.

Travel Information from the Isle of Wight

There are a number of services that travel to and from the Isle of Wight from mainland Britain, here is a list of these services:

The Hovercraft is an exhilarating crossing from Ryde Esplande and is the quickest route from the Isle of Wight, taking only 10 minutes to cross the Solent to Southsea, perfect for short stays and day trips. There are frequent crossings every 15 minutes between the hours of 9.45am and 11.45am and between 4.45pm and 6.15pm, otherwise the crossings are normally every 30 minutes. There is also a service running to Portsmouth Harbour, via WIGHTLINK which offer first class crossings by their Hi-Speed catamaran, this is a 15 minute crossing from Ryde Pier Head. If you are travelling to Southampton, RED FUNNEL offer first class crossings by their Hi-Speed Service, which is about a 20 minute crossing from West Cowes or their Passenger/Vehicle Ferry, a 55 minute crossing from East Cowes. Travel links are available via the bus stations and railway stations on to Goodwood.

Travel information via Eurostar

Eurostar is the ultra-modern, high speed, passenger-only train that travels from London Waterloo International and Ashford International in Kent, direct to Europe. With trains leaving every hour, Eurostar is fast: you can be in the heart of London in just over three hours from Paris or from Brussels in two hours forty minutes. For more information, see www.Eurostar.co.uk. Fast trains from Waterloo- Haslemere, then take a taxi from Haslemere to Goodwood, with a journey time of approximately 1 hour, 30 minutes.

Travel to Goodwood via the Cross-Channel Ferry Calais - Dover

Crossing time 1 hour 15 minutes by ferry, 55 minutes by SeaCat, 45 minutes by SeaLynx or 35 minutes by hovercraft. The operators are P&O Stena Line, SeaFrance and Hoverspeed. Trains from Dover Priory to Chichester leave every hour with changes at Tonbridge and Redhill. Approximate journey time 3 hours 30 mins.
